Hope House, Bath

This prestigious development of luxury apartments and houses is located on the site of the former girls’ school in Lansdown, Bath. The scheme features the refurbishment and conversion of a grade II listed building together with new build houses and apartments designed to complement Bath's historic urban fabric. Existing parkland and garden spaces are to be retained and enhanced, providing a communal green space for residents.

Harmoniously designed communal landscape areas provide a new focus for the new and original buildings, and a new formal terrace with stone steps and balustrades connects the development with the mature trees of the existing parkland. 

Stone walls, piers and balustrades were carefully detailed in local stone to reflect and enhance the historic character of Hope House.

Hardwood furniture and natural stone paving provide high quality and functional outdoor space for residents, which is in keeping with the historic listed building. 

Lush planting helps to soften the appearance of the buildings and hard landscaping, and adds a sense of maturity.
