Harbourside Walk, Bristol

Running alongside the historic buildings of the Brandon Yard development, the new Harbourside Walk forms the last piece of Bristol's waterfront public realm, linking Capricorn Quay and Millenium Promenade.

Deep planting beds and a low wall helps to demarcate the boundary between public realm and the residential courtyard of Brandon Quay. The area enjoys wonderful views across the Floating Harbour to the SS Great Britain.

The historic industrial buildings, and the original piers which frame the entrance to the space, are reflected in the Pennant stone used in the new walls and paving bands. Coloured asphalt provides a sound surface for cyclists and pedestrians, and a visual link with the waterside public realm at Millenium Promendade and Hannover Quay.
