Green Park, Reading

Masterplan and detailed design for one of the largest business parks in the UK. As part of the design team, including PBA and Fosters, Matthew worked on the extensive infrastructure including some 15ha of new lakes and the build out of much of the 2.25 million sq ft of high quality lakeside mixed use office development.

The new water bodies were required to serve as a rich biodiversity resource as well as flood alleviation for the River Kennet, which created considerable challenges for the landscape scheme to resolve. The project incorporated the design of riparian features, flood defences, business plot developments, events areas and broad swathes of species rich habitat. Green Park continues to be an exemplar within its sector.
