Matthew Wigan Associates is a dynamic practice with the ability to work at all levels, from broad visioning, to detailed site specification, providing landscape planning solutions and management plans. Our aim is to create meaningful landscapes through an imaginative and considered approach, underpinned by a rigorous technical understanding.
Our strength lies in the ability to listen to our client’s brief and translate our experience in the design, planning and management of highly sensitive sites, to create landscapes of quality that successfully deliver to the broadest community.
We are able to provide a full development service, including initial site analysis, landscape and townscape visual appraisal, concept and detailed design, planning applications, contract administration, site implementation and site management.
Having studied at Leeds University, Matthew graduated in landscape architecture from the University of Sheffield. As a Chartered Landscape Architect, he has built up over fifteen years of experience in the private sector, having worked on a broad range of projects from waterside residential developments to historic landscape restoration schemes.
Matthew has a successful track record in providing large and small-scale masterplanning, high quality detailed design and effective implementation of a wide variety of complex schemes on greenfield, brownfield and historic sites. His strengths as a designer, project manager and contract administrator allow him to deliver a high quality service to his clients.
After studying horticulture at Pershore RHS College, Will completed a degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire. Since completing his postgraduate diploma, Will has been able to draw upon his background in horticulture and passion for the environment and public space while working as a Landscape Architect.
Will's experience includes liaising with planners and local authorities, and community consultation while delivering a wide range of projects in the housing and education sectors, as well as public realm and parks.
We are assisted by a professional team of landscape practitioners, who regularly work within multi-disciplinary teams, providing an excellent level of service, nationwide and overseas.
Where required, we can arrange support from a variety of additional specialists, providing expertise in areas including arboriculture, archeology, conservation, ecology, soil resources, and 3D computer visualisation.
